Established in 2014, Al Ahli Publishing and Distribution (APD) deals in collectible editions of comic books and related media. The company, which is a subsidiary of Al Ahli Holding Group, has rights to publish and distribute prominent titles in Arabic, English & Persian (for selected regions) languages. APD is the only company across the region apart from others in the United States of America, to publish comic books, magazines and activity books for distribution in the GCC, Middle East, North Africa and Persia.
The company has a broad portfolio of activities, including the management of the licensing and publishing rights for many intellectual properties – from the largest studios and companies in the world, including Marvel, Disney, Warner Bros and Sanrio. Amongst the popular comic book titles are Ironman, Spiderman, Hulk, Thor and Avengers. The company also publishes Spiderman and Avenger magazines through its affiliation with Disney. It also publishes Super Friends, Batman and Superman magazines; activity books by Warner Bros and Hello Kitty coloring magazine, for both ages 5+ (Hello Kitty Mini) and ages 12+ (Hello Kitty Teens).
The company currently distributes in over 12 countries and will shortly launch collectible editions and master works editions of various titles.
