   Founded in 2007, Alserkal Avenue is the region’s foremost arts hub, bringing together collaborators from diverse artistic disciplines and encouraging open dialogue, the sharing of ideas and the ability to collaborate to develop them. Spread across 250,000 Sq ft, Alserkal Avenue’s creative warehouse spaces coexist with industrial workshops. The Avenue houses numerous galleries of international repute, dynamic art spaces, and homegrown cultural initiatives.

The Avenue brings dynamism to Dubai’s arts community, the galleries are diverse, representing emerging, mid-career and established artists, in addition to hosting exhibitions, talks, panel discussions, Young Collector’s Auctions and community events. Seven of the galleries based in Alserkal Avenue are actively involved in Art Dubai, exhibiting new shows and artists for the fair.

With a mandate to support creative initiatives, Alserkal Avenue is known for supporting local talent and cultural projects: Quoz Arts Festival, the first free, community arts festival in the UAE, Galleries Night, a biannual feature on Dubai’s art calendar; galleries and creative spaces simultaneously open their doors to the public, including live performances by local musicians; and Urban Market, a seasonal, daylong, outdoor festival to bring the community together, celebrating arts, food and creativity.

In Fall 2015, 15 new creatives will open their doors, representing a wider range of artistic and creative arts. In addition to creating more space for well respected local and international contemporary art galleries such as Leila Heller Gallery, Stephane Custot, The Third Line and a special partnership with Jean-Paul Najar Foundation.

The Expansion positions Alserkal Avenue as the home for creative industries and a vital intersection for the confluence of art, culture and development. To house: not-for-profit artists’ studios, residency programmes, project space, concept stores, black box theatre, independent cinema, unique food and beverage outlets, outdoor event facilities, concerts and community-led cultural initiatives.
